Introducing the Neighbourgood Workspace
It happens every few years: a seismic shift in the way we live our lives fuels a change in human behaviour so significant, it blows the concept of the office as we know it out of the water. Modern technology is no exception. Fast becoming the catalyst behind one of the biggest shake-ups the office has ever seen – from design to location and from sustainability to well-being – it is the shift of our generation.
So what might the workplace of the future look like?
Well we expect the workplace to become even more comfortable – a place where you choose to spend more time without the pressures and formality of the traditional office. With a call for more flexible working hours already, people are spending less physical time at their formal office spaces. They want spaces that actually cater for, and enhance, their working lives. That could mean access to everything from gyms or social spaces, bedrooms or a provision of pause areas and specialist equipment or facilities to support content creators.
Enter Neighbourgood
We are a next-generation property development and management company focused on modern living and working. March 2021 will see the launch of our third location, a co-working space which will become home to 270 freelancers, entrepreneurs and businesses both big and small.
Based in the Cape Quarter, a unique building in the historic De Waterkant district, Neighbourgood is a collaborative workspace that is as flexible as the modern world demands.
Whether you are just starting out and need a desk in an inspired environment, or you are an established startup looking for a workspace to build your empire, Neighbourgood is a place where you can grow as your business does, within a community of like-minded people.
From the communal lounge areas and a balcony terrace to the kitchen and pause areas, Neighbourgood encourages intentional growth for businesses of all shapes and sizes.
Members enjoy discounted coffee from the local cafe, as well as various discounts from local businesses at Cape Quarter, and in the surrounding neighbourhood.
Neighbourgood believes that embracing collaboration and community is good for business. We are a workspace where business and collaboration meet. Where everything is taken care of, so that you have more time to spend doing your best work.
Beyond relationship building, offices matter for a host of other reasons. Both people and organisations use work settings as a means of expressing their values and aspirations. The design of physical places helps us express our professional identities. While ubiquitous virtual work is working - for now - many of us are still functioning from cultures, norms, relationships, and practices that were in place prior to the pandemic.
If we wish to change or adapt any of those factors in the future, it will be difficult without some degree of physical presence. The reality is, you can’t change a culture over Zoom.
Welcome to the future of work!
